Cleaning & Maintenance of Driveway/Patio Paving

There are a number of methods you can use to clean your driveway or patio paving, below we will explain the best method to choose depending on the severity of the problem.

Jet / Pressure Washing:

Pressure or Jet Washing your PavingPressure washing, can be very effective on moss and general dirt buildup which occurs over time. Any pressure washer can be used on your paving and will give a varied difference depending on the power or PSI of the pressure washer. However please note, if using a high power pressure washer, the sand or concrete between the paving can be affected. This is especially so when washing block paving as the joints are filled with kiln dried sand which is extremely effected by pressure washing. Therefore it is highly recommended you do not use pressure washing for block paving when sand jointed.

Rotary Surface Cleaners:

Rotary Pressure Washer Surface Cleaners are powerful, reliable and universal in their application. Perfect for pressure cleaning driveways, patio's, decking, concrete floors, garages and warehouse's.

The Rotary Surface Cleaner has become very popular and is now regarded as the best cleaning method available, producing a similar result to power jet washing but covers a larger area and takes much less time to get the job done.

These washers usually need to be combined with a pressure washer to provide the pressurised water feed needed for high pressure cleaning.

Acid Based Cleaners

Acid based cleaning products are powerful acid cleaners which removes cement and mortar splashes, grime, oil, grease and other difficult to remove stains. Use for cleaning brickwork, patios, garages, paving and concrete.

Before beginning, test an small area in case of any problem and check for discolouration or loss of gloss.

Note: Most Acid based paving cleaners will attack Limestone.
